|
Benefits:
|
- Satin smooth finish
- Proven quartz durability
- Extremely etch resistant
- Colored Quartz Aggregate
- Traditional or spray applied |
|
Preparation:
|
CrystalColors®
should be applied to a sound surface free of oil, dirt, algae or any
other foreign substance. Previously applied paints or sealers must
be removed by acid washing and/or sandblasting. Neutralize acid with
baking soda or soda ash then thoroughly rinse with water. In addition
CLI PermaKote® should be used as a bonding coat for re-plaster
jobs. Re-finished pools must be undercut an appropriate distance around
all tile, return lines, light fixtures and main drains as recommended
per NSPI guidelines. All weepers and plumbing leaks should be repaired
at least 24 hours prior to plaster application. |
|
Mixing:
|
1.
Using standard mixing equipment, it is important to blend each batch
for the same amount of time.
2. Mix CrystalColors® with approximately 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 gallons of
potable water per 80-lb. bag. Mix each batch with the same amount
of water to ensure consistency in color.
3. Mix CrystalColors® with approximately 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 gallons of
potable water per 80-lb. bag. Mix each batch with the same amount of
water to ensure consistency in color. |
|
Application:
|
CrystalColors®
may be applied by either pump or conventional methods. Apply CrystalColors®
over a lightly dampened (no standing water) surface to a uniform thickness
of approximately 3/8." Substrate conditions will have a direct
relationship on the thickness of application and coverage rates per
bag. If application must be interrupted, finish to natural break to
prevent joints from showing.
CrystalColors® should be applied when shell temperatures
exceed 40 degrees F and rising. After the finish has sufficiently hardened
(usually several hours), remove the cement film from the aggregate
surface with a dilute muriatic acid solution. Sodium Bicarbonate is
placed around the bowl to prevent over-exposing this area. |
|
Curing:
|
Care
should be taken to protect CrystalColors® from rapid drying
conditions such as high wind, high temperature and low humidity. Such
precautions may include fogging or misting the surface or placing
a protective covering over the pool. Cover should not be placed on
the plaster surface. |
|
Filling
Procedures:
|
When
filling the pool, it is important to fill water without interruption.
Fill pool as rapidly as possible. All fill hoses should have a sock
or cloth on the end. Do not allow main hose length to lay on the plaster
surface or it will leave a mark. Use of a "Bobby" is recommended. |
|
Water
Chemistry:
|
The
pool water must be carefully balanced from the initial fill and constantly
maintained within recommended guidelines. Maintaining proper chemical
balance form first fill is essential to maximize the life of the pool
surface. Please consult you CLI Product Service Representative concerning
start-up techniques and maintenance programs. |
